a taste of home

my coworkers recently took a trip back to good ole NC and guess what they brought me?

that's right. you guessed it: a bottle of deliciously unique CHEERWINE!

it was so great. it definitely was a taste of home.

if you're not from the south you'd be tempted to think that it's an alcoholic drink, but it's not. it's a wonderful burgandy-colored cherry soda that was invented in my hometown -- salisbury, north carolina -- in 1917. my dad went to high school with the son of the guy who invented it. :) (wow, that sounded like such a hometown hero!) anyway, it's mainly popular in the southeast, but apparently it's spreading to other parts of the country. their website has a spoof about yankees "hoarding" cheerwine...

  1. Glad to help, Beth. However, I can't claim to be an overly generous person here. We bought a six-pack from Super Wal-Mart. I drank three, and you got one. Yvonne and Liz split the others.

Hope you can make the most of that precious bottle :)

    Love,
