potpourri

today was the last day of my university class. i've taught these students english conversation for 2 semesters. they were a really good bunch! here they are on their first day of class, back in september.they've come a long way since then! i hope to have a class party for them sometime this summer, as most of them will be staying around in taipei for summer vacation. even though i probably won't see them much next year since they'll be juniors and i'll most likely be teaching sophomores again, i do hope i can stay in touch with them.

i've been reading the book "dead women walking" that my dear friend wrote. after researching and writing the book here in taipei for 2 years and doing ministry at the same time, jenn's book was recently published by OMF books. i just got it last weekend so i'm only about 1/3 of the way through, but i must say it is outstanding. if you live in taiwan, are interested in taiwan, or just want to enjoy an amazing book about God's transforming power, you MUST read this book. it captivates readers with the stories of three working class taiwanese women who journeyed from the grip of the enemy's darkess (idol worship, addiction, etc) into God's amazing light. click here to find out more about this book.

in other news, i've been thoroughly enjoying mango season. i've been eating 2 or 3 mangoes every day! love them love them love them!! :)
